Himura Kenshin from the manga/anime series Rurouni Kenshin and the winner of my Fanart poll.

Originally this piece was going to be a lot bloodier with Kenshin just having defeated an opponent, but I thought it would be more interesting to show the moment before a duel instead of the aftermath.

I wanted to get the tension right before a sword duel between Kenshin and an unseen opponent. As the sun is going down and the Cherry blossoms are falling off the trees. You can tell he is just about to cut someone down and it's not going to be pretty.

To those wondering, his thumb is positioned behind the tsuba instead of wrapped around the sword, that's why you don't see it.
